LUDHIANA: Time and again, kids from the 90s have come up with pictures and have shared instances hinting that their generation was the best. Compelling, however, is the latest video that has gone viral in the city making the memories of childhood in the 90s grow stronger than ever.
A random user on
Youtube uploaded the video a few days back. Ever since, it is being forwarded on social networking sites and texting applications.
The way in which the protagonist mentions things like Pepsi being available in small packets, the postman coming to deliver good news in his cycle, 5 households sharing a common landline phone, spending hours playing Mario and attempting to save the princess and using the pencil to solve all problems to name a few. The most appreciated however is the part that talks about the time when friend requests weren't sent online, but were carried by pals, who would take the proposal and never would mind being the messenger.
"I remember proposing girls for my best friend Arnav. He would get emotional and I would have to walk up and hand over the letter. I was a very shy person, but would do it for him. It strengthened our relationship besides getting him a girlfriend", smiles Jatin Luthra from Raj Guru Nagar.
